Welton will face familiar rivals in the FA Vase First Qualifying Round

Following this afternoon’s draw we now know that Welton will face Willand Rovers in the Buildbase FA Vase First-Round Qualifying.

Willand are familiar opponents to Welton, playing as they do in the Toolstation Western League Premier Division. The last meeting between the two sides came in November 2015 at West Clewes with late Willand goals securing the visitors a 5-3 victory in a barnstorming game that saw 3 goals inside the first 7 minutes.

The match will take place on Saturday 9th September 2017, with the winners going on to host Cornwall’s Saltash United in the Second Qualifying Round.

The Under 18 side will also face Willand Rovers in the FA Youth Cup Preliminary Round. The match will take place in the week commencing 4th September at West Clewes. The victorious side will then face Ashton & Backwell United or Wells City in the First Round proper.

Due to last season’s league placing, Welton have not qualified for this year’s FA Cup draw.
