Welton Rovers can confirm that Clive Scott has left the club as manager, by mutual consent.
Scott took the manager's role at West Clewes in June 2016, following the club's relegation to the Western League First Division. In his two full seasons since then he achieved the club's goal of initially avoiding a second successive relegation, and built on this with an overachieving 8th place finish in the last campaign. Welton started the 2018/19 season strongly, putting together 7 consecutive wins, but have faltered since then, losing 7 of their last 9 matches in all competitions.
The Board of Directors would like to thank Clive Scott for all his hard work, both on and off the pitch, over the past two and a half seasons, and for leaving the club in a far stronger position than that in which he found it.
Interim control of the first team will fall to the caretaker management team of former Welton manager and player Nick Beaverstock, along with current players Aaron Seviour and Tom Smith. News on a full-time appointment will follow.
