Welton Rovers Appoint New Chairperson

1 year ago By Gareth Paisey

Following recent meetings among the board of directors about the way to take the club forward, a few changes have taken place.

After many decades of service, Malcolm Price takes the position of chairperson on a permanent basis. There is no person who knows the ins and outs of the club better than Malcolm. Likewise, his knowledge of the Western League and devotion to the club will continue to be of great value to Welton Rovers.

The new vice-chair is Gareth Paisey.

Ryan Grubb has stepped down from the role of chairperson, but will continue in the capacity of a director. Welton Rovers FC would like to thank Ryan for his tenure as chairperson, and the positive moves that were made under his stewardship, most notably his success in bring ladies’ football to West Clewes in the form of Purnell Sports FC.

The club’s other remaining current board members are David Gilson, John Gulliford, Paula Franklin, Haydn Veale and David Paisey. The Midsomer Norton Council representative on the board is Steve Plumley.

In the coming days WRFC will announce details of an informal meeting for supporters of the club where they will be invited to join the new chairperson and vice-chairperson, and the rest of the board to discuss anything to do with Welton Rovers. A notice will be displayed in the club house, as well as the details being advertised here and on our social media platforms.

The new chair would like to thank supporters for their ongoing support, and is looking forward to a positive season ahead.
