History
From that start the Club has grown to run curriculum sessions, lunch time clubs and after school clubs at Primary Schools across the District; run taster sessions in secondary schools in the District, has two senior mens’ teams with the first team playing in the Premier Division of the Southern mens Lacrosse league; have a womens’ team playing in the South of England womens league, and have junior teams at Under 12 and Under 14 level.
The Club also continues its lacrosse development work through other avenues such as coaching and assisting with the development of the University of Hertfordshire’s lacrosse teams, running outreach programmes in Hemel Hempstead, Hertford and St Albans, and developing links with European Clubs and associations to support and develop lacrosse internationally.
The Club this year is attempting to establish a County based youth league at Under 12 and Under 14 level, to continue the development of lacrosse in the County and give young players of all abilities the opportunity for match play, together with establishing a County Under 15 team.
The Club also co-ordinates on behalf of the ELA the town based heats of the national pop lacrosse competition, which has become over the years one of the biggest primary school sporting events in the calendar.
The Club has achieved Club mark status and is fortunate to have a base of enthusiastic volunteers who support the Club’s activities. However to run the programmes in schools which are an essential building block of lacrosse in the District, we now employ two full time lacrosse development officers to run the school and club activities.
