Dear Members,
I am delighted to confirm my appointment as Chair of Welwyn Rugby Club for the 2018/2019 season. I have a long history with this club, joining as a Minis player through to Senior Ladies. I perceive this role as an exciting opportunity to facilitate the future development of club whilst supporting our committed members in reaching their full potential as players and volunteers.
Please also welcome Austen Cox as Vice Chair. Austen is a long standing member of the club and a true club legend. Austen is an respected and approachable member of the club and this passion for the club will support us in our journey this upcoming season.
Although I have a tough act to follow in the form of past Chairman Mick Hills, I strive to advance the club and to strengthen the already successful club spirit we have here at Welwyn. The rugby environment and family have taught me many values which have helped me on and off the pitch and I hope to pass this ethos on to both current and prospective members of the club.
We are fortunate as a community club to have skilled and passionate volunteers, who are the heart and soul of our fantastic club spirit. In order to continue developing we NEED more volunteers to come forward and support the club. This is your club, this is our club, we are ONE CLUB.
It is a privilege to be your new Chair and I look forward to supporting the club moving into the 2018/2019 season.
