Another win in the mud
Dale travelled across to Skipton on a snowy wintry day with numerous players out for various reasons and came away with an excellent victory.
Winger Sam Blackburn decided to travel over the tops only to get stuck in the snow, arriving at half time when the game was won !!
Stand in kicker Nathan Bishoprick put his team in control slotting 3 early penalties. Dale then defended for the next 10 minutes giving away several kickable penalties only for Skipton to opt for scrummaging which Boo Wheeler and Co were happy to deal with.
Eventually Dale won the ball working their way downfield through the forwards. When the ball was spread along the backs huge inroads were made in Skiptons defence moving them left and right giving 2nd row Tom Mundy an easy run in under the posts. Nathan converted, 16 - 0 up with half an hour gone.
As the rain continued to fall on the greasy surface both sides found it near impossible to play good rugby leading to mistakes all round. The scrum count must have reached 30 by the end of the game.
With a comfortable lead Dale were happy to shut up shop and take the 4 points.
Game over, job done.
