Wessex Founder and Stalwart Retires

Phil Langford honorary member and founder member of Wessex Rugby Football Club retires from the committee.

Phil Langford at the age of 72 has retired from the Southwest competitions committee and as Devon 2 league secretary, Phil has also resigned his post of Wessex RFC League contact and Club representative after serving 20 years for the club that he help set up.

Phil will be sorely missed and it will be extremely hard for him to be replaced, Phil we retain one of his many current roles at Wessex he has requested to continue as the player registration officer for Wessex RFC.

Phil said he would not be able to continue with the many roles that he has conducted and that he would only be able to attend on the occasional Saturday afternoon.

The Wessrx RFC committee would like to thank Phil for all his hard work and his commitment over the two decades keeping the club running.

Phil has held the following offices at Wessex, Club secretary, Fixtures Secretary, Players Secretary, Forwards Coach, Head of Playing Selectors, League Contact & Club Representative to Devon RFU, Chairman,
