At a recent meeting the Sports Club Committee has decided to develop plans for the refurbishment of the Clubhouse. It is painfully obvious that the present building is totally inadequate for the expanding needs of both the rugby and cricket clubs.
The Sports Club Committee has appointed a sub-committee comprising members from both clubs to examine options and prepare a scheme for refurbishment. It is anticipated that the cost will be in the region of £300,000.00. There are grants available from various sporting and other bodies to finance the work but clearly there will need to be some fundraising by both clubs.
We have a limited time to prepare plans and costs if we are to qualify for the available funding and hope to make a presentation to members on 31 January 2012 following the conclusion of the Sports Club AGM.
You will appreciate that this is a major undertaking and we would like to hear from any club member or parent who has an expertise in the construction or allied industry, raising funds or who would like to help out in some capacity. We are particularly interested in anyone who can assist with Mechanical and Electrical service design. If you are interested could you email one of the sub-committee members listed below stating your area of expertise or what you can contribute:
