The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a regulation in EU law on data protection and privacy for all individuals within the EU.

It aims primarily to give control to citizens and residents over their personal data. This will also be transposed over the next two years into UK law as part of the Data Protection Bill.

In simple terms, GDPR will help protect the personal data of those involved in rugby by requiring better governance and transparency.
