History
It all started one evening in the Hare & Hounds pub in West End, Tommy Walsh & I were discussing the good old days when we played football for West End, thinking what a shame that there was now no senior football club in the village, reminiscing about how much we all enjoyed playing for the village in the old days, next thing I know I was suggesting how about starting it up again, Tommy agreed immediately. We contacted the Parish council, who were very enthusiastic & they kindly agreed to let us use the football pitch & changing room.
We gathered a team of people willing to be involved in the making of the new club & set out looking for local sponsorship. There has been a great response & everyone in the area is excited by the prospect of football returning to the village. It was agreed to start with a senior team that will hopefully attract interest from potential players as the season progresses.
If the club is successful, we would look to start up a ladies team, & eventually introduce other sports.
The vision is that we can have local men, women & children playing for West End & proud to do so.
Little acorns grow into great oak trees. We want this club to be a great oak.
