BARLA Key Security Yorkshire County Youth & Junior Finals

The highly successful, BARLA Key Security Yorkshire County Youth & Junior Cups are all geared up for a weekend jamboree of finals, with seven titles set to be decided, at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium, Belle Vue, Wakefield on the 10th/11th December.

BARLA Youth Chair Carole Land commented on the finals saying, "The competition so far up to the finals has been a tremendous success, BARLA are really pleased with the way that the competition has unfolded, we are also very pleased to be welcomed down to Belle Vue by Wakefield Trinity Wildcats, who are hosting the event."

"We are aware that for most of the competing players and teams it will be their first crack at a major title and BARLA will be doing it’s upmost to give everyone concerned a day out to remember."

"The early indications that BARLA have had, is that both days will be very well supported and with twelve different clubs competing in the seven finals, I am sharing the clubs’ excitement which is surrounding the whole event."

Mark Winder, Director of Education for the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats, spoke on behalf of the club and said, "Wakefield Trinity Wildcats and The Wakefield Wildcats Community Trust are committed to making young people reach their full potential, Wakefield Trinity Wildcats supporting the weekend is a small part on our behalf, but it will make the young people’s memories of the competition all the more special."

Mark continued, "Many great players from the past 100 years have played on this pitch at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium and the one that immediately springs to mind is our very own Neil Fox, the reigning world record point scorer. I sincerely hope that we are seeing some more great players of the future on show, however the most important thing is that the young people playing today are doing something positive with their spare time and laying the foundations to a healthy and successful lifestyle."

Kieran Montgomery, the Managing Director of sponsors, Key Security, threw his company’s weight behind the event and said, "Key Security are proud to be associated with the BARLA Youth and Junior Cups. Our growing relationship with Rugby League in the Yorkshire region is fantastic and it is a great opportunity to support an event that will be showcasing some of the future stars of Super League."

The weekend kicks off on Saturday 10th December at 11.00 am when Dewsbury Celtic take on Hunslet Warriors for the under 13’s crown.

The Hunslet club is also represented in the under 14’s final which kicks off at 12.30 pm when they take on Stanley Rangers.
