The under 9's travelled to Whitefield on another glorious morning to face the Bury Broncos.

With only 6 players on the home team, the sportsmanship started in ernest with Indy and Callum volunteering to play for the opposition.

Bury scored the opening try of the game before the lions pulled away with an impressive 7-2 lead at half time. Further swaps saw Lewis, Aiden and Jack battle for the home side, slowing down the Lions attack before the final whistle blew at 6-12.

Debut season tries were scored by Indy, who weaved his way over the line and Jonathon whose sheer determination broke through the Broncos defence. Aiden also scored his first try for the under 9's, albeit for the opposition!

A hatrick of tries were scored by Lewis, Sam and Leila. The top tacklers for the match were Aiden with 23, Jonathon with 21 and Aston with 19, who also scored a try for the Lions.

Noah, as ever was solid as acting half back, ensuring the ball was always at the hands of the Lions attack.

Another great game to watch with a fantastic team effort displayed by all.
