Back on the green grass of Barn Elms and what a way to play on our home turf. Just what we wanted – another three wins and all teams sitting on top of the ladder in their respective divisions.
Unfortunately, the league website is still having issues so we don’t currently have up to ladders. As soon as these become available I’ll send out the link – they will also be available on our club site at www.wildcats.co.uk.
Check out the AFL London write up in the Australian Times here.
The weather was great (for May) and we had a great crowd for Ladies Day. Congratulations to Amy Jenkins for winning the Ladies Long Kick Competition with a wobbly drop punt clearing about 26 metres, winning the £100 Top Shop voucher.
Again, thanks to everyone who helped out throughout the day, especially to the girls who helped behind the bar and to Jimmy and Moons who took over later in the day. Thanks also to Matty Scudds for taking some quality photos on the day – check out the facebook page to see the action shots: http://www.facebook.com/westlondonwildcats
And then there was the Rubix Cube Party – what a great time and what a great turnout. Rumours are still circulating about a few boys finishing up 36 hours after the lights were turned on at the Walky. There are plenty of photos being posted on Facebook so make sure you check them out.
Next week we’ll face some serious competition from the Demons. We played these guys in the Grand Final in all three grades last season so it’s vital we come out firing Saturday to show them the Wildcats are back to defend the Premiership and Conference titles in 2012. And to take back the Social Division cup.
Make sure you get down to training this week to prepare for a big Saturday down at Clapham Common.
