London Welsh v Mike's Marauders

Raising awareness and funds for Stem Cell Treatment to help our own MIck Bell in his battle with Parkinson's Disease.

A long term member of the club and now volunteering groundsman Micky Bell has suffered for the last 4 years with Parkinson disease. Micky started playing rugby in his 30;, he came to the game late through this son Vincent’s involvement with the sport.

He learned his trade in Westoe Senators and rose through the ranks playing regular first & second team. He was an uncompromising ( Hard as f@@k) second row / back row.

He played his last first team game 16 years ago , as open side flanker, against Horden RFC. He is now battling Parkinson’s disease and his health is in decline.

Despite this he still works at Westoe everyday as volunteer grounds man.

Micky’s Marauders will be made up of current Westoe players, older players who played with Micky and hopefully some higher profile players.

Come along on Sunday for a feast of entertaining Rugby at Westoe's Wood Terrace.

Bring your boots if you fancy a few minutes of pitch-time.
