DISCIPLINE - match official abuse

1 week ago By Ian Etchells

This season we are hearing a number of reports of Match Official Abuse throughout the County.

Therefore as a club we propose to deal with proven cases as follows:
Any proven cases of match or club official abuse, at either home or away games, regardless of age group will be subject to a club disciplinary.

Match or Club Official Abuse – this ranges from casual swearing to serious and persistent abuse from players and also spectators, both of which are unacceptable. The potential consequences to the game, team and club are huge.

Anyone found guilty of an offence of Abuse of Match Officials can receive up to a 52 week ban and for the most serious offences might include the deduction of league points from 1st XV.

Discipline is part of the RFU’s Core Values, along with Respect, Teamwork, Enjoyment and Sportsmanship

Please remember where every you are, at home or away, on the side line supporting, a player, coach, team admin or spectator, you are representing South Shields Westoe RFC, please make use proud.

If you have any queries in getting the discipline across within your team please do not hesitate to contact either myself, the Secretary or the Safeguarding Officer.
