Once more famous for canoeing, the wide open sands of Seaton beach offer a superb setting for Beach 7's - no matter what the state of the tide.
The very first tournament is scheduled for Sunday August 26th 2012 - the perfect social pipe opener to the new rugby season.
As well as generous prize money "£1,000 cash prize for the winners and £500 cash for the winners of the Plate competition Marston's are providing a beer tent, music entertainment and BBQ.
An official letter and poster will be going out to all clubs in Durham, Northumberland and North Yorkshire but I wanted to draw your attention to our website which will give you more information about the event.

Why don't we ever host stuff like this?
Wouldn't it be fantastic! We could have rugby all year round and bring money into the club! Unfortunately, you'll know the answer to it yourself - we don't have year round use of the ground or pitch space for that matter, another reason to support and canvas for moving ground!
what about a beer festival could do this before the cricket team use the ground or even a bank holiday?
Was talking to Jan R about this not so long ago. Do you think there'd be the interest as it's a hefty outlay first and the worry is that money would be lost. Personally, if we could have outdoor music and a beer festival at the same time, I think it would be a money spinner but STC music laws are very strict, the club being in a residential area.
