Dinnington were Westoe’s first opponents in North 1 East way back in September and the home team winning 24-0. There have been a lot of matches played and tears shred between then and now and this is the last match of what has been a hard season for the Wood Terrace outfit. Last week saw the Shieldsmen travel to Pocklington RFC in what were wintry conditions for April. The score line didn’t reflect the effort that the players put in in what was a closely fought match in at times battering hail storms. However the defeat relegated this young side to Durham & Northumberland 1next season. Hopefully the club and players can regroup during pre-season and come back fighting in September.

Can supporters please note that the match will kick off at 3.00pm at the 3G at Harton School as the ground at Wood Terrace is now the domain of the cricket for the summer! However everyone is welcome back to the club house after the match.
