Andy Howells had been hoping for a good win against The Wirral, but it all went wrong in the first twenty five minutes of the game.

Within those first twenty five minutes the writing was on the wall as Westoe conceded four converted tries to The Wirral managing only tree points themselves from the boot of Chris Judson.

Westoe then held out until deep into injury time before The Wirral completed the first half scoring with another converted try.

The half ended 35 – 3 to The Wirral.

Normal service for The Wirral continued as they kepi the scoreboard turning over with two more converted tries.

A ray of sunshine seemed to appear when a cross field flowing move deep into The Wirral half; led to Connor Deacon scoring on his début for Westoe in the bottom left hand corner.

The last ten minutes of the game produced three more tries; two for Westoe and another converted effort for The Wirral. The Westoe scorers were John Younghusband and Gary Andrews who both crossed the whitewash in the bottom right hand corner.

The final score of 18 – 56 was a great disappointment to all the Westoe faithful. All of who had hoped along with Andy Howells that this could have been the beginning of a rewarding period of rugby for the JML sponsored side.

If the number of injured players improves and the team can get itself back to full strength then Andy hopes that the disappointing results of late can be reversed.
