Following the resurgence of the youthful 1st and development teams, the Old Guard dusted off their knee braces and headed off for a weekend match against Winlaton. Bolstered with a few friends from South Shields and Gateshead they started with a bang.

Manager Warren Ridley stated -

"First game of the season , first win for the new Senators , fantastic flowing rugby, 5 points away from a 100 point game! Fantastic set of lads at Winlaton and a great Westoe side with some guests from the South Shields RFC and Gateshead.
