Last time we won the Yorkshire Shield as West Park Bramhope RUFC was against Yarnbury at Roundhegians in the season 1989-90. The cup was seized twenty years after the first win.

To compliment the Shield win the championship of Yorkshire One was also achieved in that season. A memorable day in May 2005 saw the 1st XV lose narrowly against Sheffield in the Yorkshire Shield Final, having held the lead at half time.

York are coming into the game on the back of three impressive performances against Malton & Norton, Ripon and Goole, the highlight been their 36-5 victory against Malton & Norton.
