Brave in defeat
A West Park Leeds line up that lacked a host of 1st team regulars perfomed bravely but went down to defeat.
Only 3 v 5 down until the 40th minute, a soft try conceded right on halftime proved crucial. Two further second half tries sealed the 6 v 22 result but the players on duty defended tenaciously to the final whistle. Fullback James Kear kicked 2 well struck penalties from as many attempts.
With many regulars on 1st team duty a youthful Warriors made the short trip to Far Moss, putting up a strong performance before going down 29 v 18 to Moortown 2nds. Try scorers included fly half Ollie Trace and outstanding young Number 8 Andrew Major.
The Lions comfortably put away a useful Bradford Salem 3rd string, running out 24 v 7 winners. Tries came from fullback Tim Hurst, winger Josh Buckland, centre Doug Moore and Number 9 Sean Smith. Dan Manley added 2 conversions.
