West Park Warriors (2nds) put on a spectacular display to demolish Skipton 81 v 19 in the Aire Wharfe Cup quarter final

The visitors looked keen, well organised and fit, taking a 0 v 12 lead inside the opening five minutes. Both tries were the result of good handling, neat offloads setting up the scores.

It proved to be a false dawn, 81 unanswered points ensuing before the visitors went in for a consolation try with the last play of the game.

Ultimately, the visitors had no answer to the sheer pace of the youthful home back line, featuring a member of the Leeds University sprint relay team, who wasn't even the fastest man out there.

Centre Johnnie Graham led the way with four superb tries, quick feet taking him past man after man on several occasions.

Rangy fullback Mason Knowles went in for a hat trick. When the teenager gets the ball in space it's like watching Frankel against a field of selling platers. You can try to catch him but there really isn't much point.

The forwards were in on the fun, powerful flanker Chis Lee also recording a hat trick as the home pack put in some punishing drives.

Graham Foxton was in the right place to go over for a brace, a just reward for the hooker's enormous work rate.

The try of the night came from Dan Walker. The young winger received the ball deep inside his own half, somewhere near the corner flag, setting off on a thrilling chase to the line for a sensational try that brought the spectators to their feet.

Fly half Jake Duxbury added eight conversions, several from difficult angles.

The spirit of the visitors never dropped but they made far too many mistakes and failed to back themselves several times when a score looked on.

West Park travel to Ilkley in a repeat of last season's semi final, date and time to be announced.
