Please find information sent from Yorkshire RFU about the use of ID Cards at Age Grade rugby.

Following recent conversations within the County about our recent ruling on how to validate Age Grade players ages it has become apparent that there is strong feeling that ID cards should be reinstated.

We therefore canvassed the County Age Grade Chairs (through District Chairs/Secretaries) for their input. Disappointingly only 5 individuals responded to the very short survey.

However we are still mindful of the concerns within the County and following a full and detailed debate the County Committee have decided the following:

• That the ID Card system should be reinstated with immediate effect.
• The policy of no ID cards no game is revoked. Every endeavour to identify players ages using other means should be explored to ensure as much safe rugby is being played.
• That a review of these procedures will be undertaken between now and the end of the season by the Age Grade Sub Committee who during the close season will recommend to the Committee the best way forward for the County.

I hope all appreciate that the Committee has listened to feedback provided by the County and has taken a reversal of decision on the basis of what is best for the game.

Regards

Barry Breakwell
Chairman,
Yorkshire RFU
