The draft Race Card for the Race Night on 4th February 2012 has now been prepared but don't fall into the trap of thinking that there's loads of time yet - the time when most of the hard work is done and most of the money earned is NOW!!!
As a matter of urgency, we need to get eight Race Sponsors - 8 races at minimum of £100 each (more if you can get it!!), with the promise that they'll get a formal mention in the published Race Card, together with two complimentary Race Cards, giving them and their guest free entry on the night.
We also need to 'sell' all of the 64 horses, at £5 each, with a one in eight chance of being the winning 'Owner', who will receive an appropriate prize (still to be decided).
So let's all of us get out there now and tout for business, with anyone who could be a potential Sponsor or 'Owner' - if we get this right now, this will be a big 'Money Spinner' for the Club - we could earn in excess of £2,000 for this one event, so don't just leave it for somebody else to do - get involved now - you know it makes sense!!
This is a reminder for all West Wickham FC members about the need for ALL of you to do your bit, to make this event a success for the benefit of everyone at the Club.
I have to say that your response to date has been comparatively poor, with only 13 horses sold (51 to go) and with only 2 races sponsored (6 to go).
For me to stand any chance of getting the Race Card completed, printed and published in plenty of time to be able to have it ready to sell for the event, I need response and support from ALL of you NOW!!
So don't just leave it for somebody else to do - YOU will get the benefit from the proceeds of this event, so please do your bit and help to get the horses sold and the races sponsored - ask your family, your workmates, your bosses, anybody that you know, to buy a horse for £5, with a 1 in 8 chance of being a winning 'owner' and receiving a decent prize.
I just need you to get from each punter £5 and a name for their horse that can be included in the Race Card.
We also need 6 more Race Sponsors, each of whom will be given a full page of advertising space in the Race Card and free admission to the event for themselves and their guest. £100 is the minimum price for sponsoring a race but if you can get more, I'm sure that the Club will gratefully receive it!!
So come on - ask your employer or local businesses that you know - they can only say no but they might surprise you and say YES - you'll never know unless you ask.
Please do your bit and YES, THIS MEANS YOU!!!
Gentlemen (and ladies), we can all be extremely proud of ourselves with all 64 horses sold (and paid for bar 2) and with all eight races sponsored and with Paul Simmonds completing the finishing touches to the Race Card, which means that it could be ready for printing and publication before Christmas.
This is an excellent effort by everybody (well done) and means that we have already made £1,120 for the Club with seven weeks still to go to the event and without any Race Cards having yet been sold!!
Chaps,
Thanks to Paul Simmonds, the first 60 Race Cards have been printed, collated and bound and will be ready for purchase at the Charity Football day on Monday.
The remainder have been printed but are still to be bound, so over the next 5 weeks I shall be making a nuisance of myself and trying to sell as many of these Race Cards, prior to the event, as possible so have your £5 ready!
Cheers,
JP.
All,
The Event of the Year (The Race Night) is now only 10 days away and to date we have sold approximately 30 Race Cards, although interest is now beginning to grow.
Entry on the night WILL BE BY RACE CARD ONLY, so if you want to avoid disappointment it would be advisable to purchase them in advance direct from me.
I will be refereeing at the Club this weekend and will have a stock of Race Cards with me, so take the opportunity of buying one (or several) then.
