WEST WICKHAM v POLYTECHNIC

Come and support your local club

WEST WICKHAM v POLYTECHNIC SATURDAY 11th SEPTEMBER KICK OFF 3pm

I guarantee that you will have more fun watching the Bluebloods this Saturday than watching the overpaid professional monkeys -- so please make the effort, if you are not playing, to come to Corkscrew Hill to support Keith’s squad. They have worked hard pre-season and we are all looking forward to a good season. Once again we have entered 3 Cups and these always bring their own brand of excitement --- anybody who saw our Kent Senior Trophy games against Whitstable, Norton Sports, Sevenoaks, Beckenham, Deal Town and Herne Bay will know that the Bluebloods are worth watching.

POLYTECHNIC are a good side full of semi pro players from New Zealand and Australia – and last season they beat us convincingly but it will be different this season. We have a full squad available with several influential players returning to training having been absent last season.

I expect all squad members to cajole their loved ones to be at the game so that I can write about a “record attendance” at Corkscrew Hill --- but we also need the rest of the club members to support the team. Just look at the terrible attendances at Kent Premier League games and Rymans games – we can do better than those clubs because we play more attractive football at better grounds (and have more fun). If we can get a good “gate” I can try to get the club some more publicity via the papers and various football websites.

Let’s make it a big day for the club – I hope to break the 100 barrier on the opening day of the season and Dave is ordering extra beer and we will try to get the Snack Bar open pre- match for tea, coffee etc.

I think that the Threes will kick off at an earlier time so they will swell the crowd.

Programmes will be available at £1 each – there will be a LUCKY NUMBER PRIZE – this will be drawn after the game. We hope that you will come into the bar and meet the players and have a chat. It’s always a bit disappointing when our faithful (and much respected) followers don’t come in for a beer after each game. The bar is a big factor in our finances and we need every penny that we can raise – so come in and have a chat. We don’t charge admission and the boys provide great entertainment.

UP THE BLUEBLOODS.
