Members of Wetherby Cricket Club voted convincingly in favour of a proposal to apply for membership of the York and District Senior Cricket League

At the EGM held on 16th February 2015, the members of Wetherby Cricket Club voted convincingly in favour of a proposal to apply for membership of the York and District Senior Cricket League. The members also decided that the application for the 2016 season should be for the first XI only, with the second XI continuing to play in the Wetherby Cricket League (WCL). The club's junior teams will also continue to compete in the WCL's junior leagues.

Club Chairman Arthur Probert said "This presents an exciting opportunity for the club, building on the success of recent years. The members have given a clear signal about the future direction for the club, showing the players' ambition to play to an even higher standard.

We are looking forward to working with both leagues, to attract as many people in the Wetherby area to play cricket as possible."
