Today's game was definitely one of four very different quarters.
We were full of feline grrrr thanks to Michelle's what's app picture postcard in the morning and fired up from Thursdays training so despite the distraction of having to sort out vomit from the court ( yuk!!) we started strongly for a 9-4 lead.
Second quarter both teams made some changes with saints capitalising on fresh legs and bringing themselves level by half time.
Third quarter they ramped up that pressure and we found it tricky to respond.
Jules and Helen worked tirelessly in defence getting tip after tip, either pulling it back into play or disrupting saints setting up in the circle.
Centre court drove relentlessly pushing the ball from the interceptions up to the circle but saints defence cracked down on our attack making feeds in and conversions virtually impossible.
With one minute to spare Amy sunk our only goal of the quarter giving us the edge we needed to go into the fourth all guns blazing.
We pushed ourselves really hard and with some sheer determination sunk 8 in a row with some awesome passages of play from defence all the way up through the channels into attack. Amy found a rhythm and put some incredible shots up. Two mintues more and we would have taken the lead back! Losing by two felt hard but the last quarter and the first showed that saints had their work cut out for securing the win. 24-22
