A hard fought game against a depleted Haslemere where we lost sight of the game plan. A great result and only 2 league games left.
The guys were all fired up and ready for battle when it was announced that Haslemere were missing players. The league game was going to go ahead and the scrum would have less players on the Haslemere side. This should have helped us but to Haslemere's credit they grew in courage from this.
We made some great initial bursts but seemed to get bogged down in the ruck too muck. Haslemere committed more and to their credit spoiled anything we had to offer.
The backs must have lost concentration as when they did eventually get the ball there were numerous knock ons and forward passes. No excuses as there were scoring certainties had we connected.
That said, a little later than expected the 45 points came up and the game should have turned to a friendly. Haslemere had been beaten up all over the park and decided that enough was enough.
Great individual performances, teamwork will be the concentration on Wednesday.
2 more weeks of league games will decide the fate of the under 14's. Please make every effort to attend training.
PMA (Positive mental attitude) will decide the title as you have the ability to succeed. Together we will get there.
A special mention for Jack Morriss for being a squad player as despite not getting on the pitch still wanted to help and was focused throughout.
P.S. Thanks to all the helpers and Clare for the food. Spag Bol and a pint on the patio in the sunshine after the game was great!!
