Our hockey tournament is run over the May Bank holiday 26-28 May 2018 in the sunny town of Weymouth, Dorset. The festival has two days of hockey (as well as an optional day on the bank holiday Monday of more competitive indoor hockey), evening entertainment and great on-site facilities.
This year is the second year of our re-vamp (having previously run the festival for 53 years over the Easter weekend), we are now looking to build on the success of last year’s festival, with more hockey, more competition, more trophies, more fancy dress and even more fun!
We are still continuing to offer 7-a-side grass hockey for men, women and mixed teams. We are also offering the chance to enter a men, women or mixed indoor teams for the Monday of the festival – although this is not mandatory for teams, it is certainly a way to run off the weekend’s hangover!
The festival will be held at Redlands Community Sports Hub, which is offering camping on site for the bargain price of £30 pp for the whole weekend. The site is well equipped with its own bar offering very reasonable bar prices and promotions on jugs of Purple Nasty! There will also be food vans on site offering yummy local food, and it is within walking distance of three supermarkets. It is a five-minute taxi ride to town. There are also on-site shower facilities and toilets.
Entry for the festival is at the ridiculously cheap price of £20 per person, this includes the following –
- A full weekend of hockey
- All your evening entertainment on the Saturday and Sunday evening
In addition to the festival price, we are also still continuing with our famous pub crawl which includes various pubs throughout the town and we keep to a bargain price.
