This Saturday 2 from 2 Wheatley welcome Oxfordshire team Faringdon to the Holton Playing field of dreams looking to make it 3 from 3.

These two teams are no strangers to each other, having last met in the Oxfordshire Cup in the 2015/16 season, with Wheatley emerging as 20-7 victors en route to that years final and a highlight of Poochie's shambolic reign. The last time these two met in the league, was back when Wheatley were last in the championship, and resulted in a 17-17 draw (edit: this result needs to be withdrawn due to James Pollard attempting to play at scrum half that day) and a 17-8 win for Wheatley. Faringdon themselves are a BBO championship staple, finishing 5th (although joint 4th on points) last season and currently lie in 8th position, after two tough opening fixtures against Littlemore (27-7 loss) and Oxford (23-18 loss).

As the ground has gotten wetter and the Tinder matches are getting drier, Wheatley now have a roster to pick from, meaning another strong squad should be on display.

With the defamed former captain Poochie still sidelined, the solid and now regular front row consists of Captain and saviour Alex Acklam, ever present Pete Mitchell and the Fly-half in a props body Alex Gabbidon. Again providing the grunt and lying about his retirement is Nick Banton, whilst Dan Bland reminds everyone that smiles and possession wins Rugby at number 6. Caillin Taylor continues his impressive debut season at number 7 whilst Jack Atkinson takes over from James Butler, who is now off to get a sun tan for 6 months.

Last weeks man of the match and current leading points scorer Aaron Laman again starts at scrum half whilst Andy Willis will be seeking contact at number 10. Jack Taylor doesn't have a date this week and so has decided to play rugby instead and starts at number 12 whilst Sanda Mpanza returns to the fold at number 13. After supplying beer to the captains car last away day, Kiwi Craig Buddle secures the number 11 shirt and Callum Fraser retains the number 14 shirt. Jordan Hook retains the number 15 shirt and hopes that Nick Banton has forgotten his 'Save the Queen' incident.

With Heavy rain forecast, it might not be a game for the purists, however as Danny Clark once famously said - "Don't let the rain dampen our spirits!"
