A young and talented Whitchurch side claim the U11's Trophy

Losing finalists in 2016 and 2017 Whitchurch came into this game focused and determined to go one better.
Having been put into bat Whitchurch set an impressive target of 139 in their 20 overs.
Captain and opening batsmen George Owen played a commanding innings at the top of the order retiring not out on 26, followed by no. 3 Harry Pyke who quickly reached 26 to also retire only to be followed by no. 4 Alex Heath again retiring 25 not out.
Further contributions from opener Tom Dyson 14 and Hugh Cornwell 10 completed a very good batting performance.
For Bridgnorth there was a wicket for Harley Caine and Arjun Cherukuri was rewarded with two wickets in the final over to finish with impressive figures of 2 for 13 off 4.
At the change of innings Bridgnorth's Jenson Caine and Charlie Ward put up a determined start, Jenson falling first to Hugh Cornwell for 16 which brought Arjun Cherukuri to the wicket. Charlie (23) and Arjun (27 retired) continued to add runs but the bowling performance from each of the Whitchurch bowlers supported by excellent fielding meant that it was very difficult to get near the required rate. Bridgnorth eventually finished with 96 from their 20 overs 43 runs short of their target.
There was a wicket each for Whitchurch bowlers Hugh Cornwell, Jonathan Evans, Tom Dyson and Alex Heath and the man of the match award was presented to Alex Heath for his unbeaten innings of 25 and for 4 overs of genuine pace finishing with figures of 1 for 9.
