Before the game began, the two captains agreed to reduce the match to 35 overs due to terrible weather forecast for later in the evening.

With 7 men, we had no choice but to win the toss and bat first.

Hassan Akhtar and Mel Amos opened up and put on 18 for the first wicket before Hassan was bowled for 9.

Dave Reynolds and Mel Amos took the score up to 31 before Mel was run out for 11.

It would get slightly easier for WHCC as Coedely had bowled out their two opening bowlers who were quite sharp. Kerry Newman joined Reynolds and the two managed to take the score up to 61-2 off 20 overs.

The introduction of spin was Whitchurch's demise as we promptly collapsed to 71-5.

Simon Watson came in at 7 and looked to be positive, cutting the fast bowler for four on two ocassions. He managed to move his score up to 14 before being stumped.

During this time, we managed to accumalate three extra players, and managed to scrape up to 114-8 off our 35 with Reynolds finishing unbeaten on 44* off 79 balls with 6 fours and 1 six.

Coedely, knowing that the weather was closing in went about knocking off the runs as quickly as possible. After 10 overs, they were 82-1 with the solitary wicket going to Aaron Maskill.

The introduction of spin pegged back Coedely as they slipped to 104-6 with Simon Watson taking 1 wicket and Dave taking 4.
Coedely managed to scrape the last 10 runs without too many alarms and won the game by 4 wickets.
