Whitchurch Heath CC cruised to a 9 wicket victory against Hopkinstown II, chasing down 165 inside 30 overs largely thanks to 93* from Raheem Ali

Whitchurch Heath won the toss and decided to bat first.

Hopkinstown put on 50 for the opening wicket inside 10 overs. 1st change bowler Owen Hopkins came on and looked sharp, picking up 2-26 in his six overs and also had a couple of chances fly through the slip corden.
Chris Hunt bowled his 10 overs straight through, picking up figures of 10-1-40-1.
After an expensive first over, Jon Delf found his rythym and soon ripped Hopkinstown's middle order, bowling their number 4 for 49 and picking up two other wickets close to the end.
Skipper Rob Owen, bowling his mixture of full tosses, long hops and surpise beauties picked up 2-20 off his 4 overs. Aaron Maskill, who opened the bowling came back in his second spell and picked up 1 wicket.

All of this meant that H'town were bowled out for 164 in 35 overs.

Despite the early loss of Mo Saleem, WHCC went about their run chase relatively easily. Returning to WHCC after being unavailable for almost all of last season with work, Raheem Ali looked the star performer. Hitting the ball hard in the V, he cracked 93* of the 165. Dave Reynolds supported him well at the other end, finishing on 47*.

All in all it was a very complete performance from the 3rds, and with plenty of good batsman not required, we should be confident taking on Sully III next week.
