With the end of what has been an extremely good season for the club rapidly approaching, we are starting to turn our attention to some summer activities, especially now that the good weather has finally arrived! One of things we have planned is for a summer pool party and BBQ at Faversham Pools. I suspect most people will have at some point in time been to Faversham Pools and will know that their outdoor pool area is a really nice facility with a large heated outdoor pool, a fun water river pool, and a splash pool for the younger children. It also has a nice grassed picnic area and BBQ.

We have hired all of the outdoor facilities for Saturday 28th July between 6.15pm and 9pm. We have exclusive use of all the outdoor pools and facilities, including the use of the diving boards and BBQ. There will be five of their lifeguards on duty for us so the water river will be operating (at various times during the evening) and the diving boards will be open as well.

We would like to make this a family event open to everyone connected with the club as well as their families and friends, and to supporters and sponsors of the club as well. Our intention is to provide the charcoal and meat, rolls etc for the BBQ (assistance in running the BBQ will I am sure be greatly appreciated) with families bringing their own drinks and any additional picnic food they would like for themselves. We have been advised by Faversham Pools that you are welcome to bring alcohol if you wish, but they ask that no glass items are brought in to the facility for obvious safety reasons. This includes glasses to drink from as well as class bottles I am afraid.

Ticket prices for the event will be £5 per adult, and £2 for children (children under four will be free). It is important that we cover the cost of hiring the facility and providing the BBQ so it is essential that we sell the tickets in advance of the event (this will also help us gauge how much meat is required for the BBQ as well). So if you are interested in coming along please help and support us by purchasing your tickets in advance. We will be making tickets available in the next week or so via the club’s coaches (so please speak with the coaches), we can also make arrangements via contacting us through Facebook too.
