1 st placed Whitstable take on 8 th placed Askeans away from home this week as the Blues begin to
build momentum into the closing stages of the season.
After a disappointing defeat to Foots Cray, Whitstable dominated an undisciplined Faversham outfit
to return to the top of Kent 2. The Blues have won 10 games from 12 this season and compared with
Askeans’ three from 12 they go into this fixture as overwhelming favourites.
Whitstable have a 100% win record in their last four meetings with Askeans and will be eager to
maintain that with a big performance away from home. The last time the two sides met Whitstable
scored 71 unanswered points: 11 tries and 8 conversions.
Askeans have won two of their three fixtures in the New Year but have accumulated a season total
of just 16 points. An upset against a strong Whitstable side would give them the confidence to
propel themselves up the table for a strong finish to an otherwise disappointing season.
Whitstable cannot allow themselves any slip ups as they push for promotion, with Brockleians and
Lordswood still to play in the coming weeks. 5 points, as well as a clinical performance is paramount
for the Blues.
