After an unplanned rest week thanks to the adverse weather conditions, Whitstable return to action at home v Greenwich.
Whitstable’s last outing saw them retain top spot in the league as they beat rivals Brockleians 22-12 to go 12 points clear at the top of Kent 2. A patient and spirited Whitstable kicked on from a steady first half to bring home 4 points in front of a large crowd.
Meanwhile, Greenwich have slipped down the table to ninth since a win against Faversham as well as a walkover against Snowdown before Christmas. They did also record their third win of the season in their last fixture a month ago, beating Dartford Valley 8-5 away from home to bring them up to 7 league points.
Despite a 12 point cushion at the top, it is essential Whitstable take 5 points from Greenwich in order to keep their distance from the chasing pack. An upset would do wonders for Greenwich’s spirit, regardless of it not affecting their league position.
Kick off is 3pm.
