Sun 24 Sep 10:00 - League Full time Attendance 27

Last minute strike seals the win!!

Eagles come back from behind to clinch a worthy win in the dying seconds of a tense game.

What a difference a week makes, glorious Autumn weather and a full squad to give coach Darren a selection headache, as the mighty Eagles made the short distance to leafy Kew.

Eagles looked strong in the opening exchanges coming close to open the scoring but the home side seemed to settle and it was a goal mouth scramble that saw Kew bundle in a goal on the 12 minute.

Both sides traded blows like heavyweight boxers in an effort to find the net. Half time was reached and a well earned rest to take on water for both sides in the surprisingly hot late September Sun.

The second half kicked off pretty much like the first with both sides sparring, but the Eagles patience was rewarded when Max found the back of the net on the 30 minute.

The game ebbed and flowed with both teams looking to find the break-through and it was looking a 1-1 score would be a fair result, but there was a final twist, as in the dying seconds some neat interplay saw Max on hand again to fire in the winner, much to the joy of his team mates, manager and Eagles fans.

Darren the Gaffer was thrilled with the boys resolve, team work and effort. His cheer when the final whistle went must have been heard as far away as Twickenham.

Team:
Beau – Making his league debut for the Eagles, looked comfortable on the ball and played a blinder in goal. Welcome aboard the Eagles Beau!

Hayden – Second match, industrious and skilful, held the ball up and created so much today.

Joe – Between the sticks in first half and did not disappoint; Couldn’t do a lot for the first goal and was his usual solid self in defence in the second half.

Harry – Engine room of the team today. Fantastic pass to set up Max for the winner.

Alex – Kept busy in defence today and caught the eye with a solid display in the left of midfield.

Rio – A rock today with some fantastic runs, some bone crunching tackles and so nearly on the score sheet.

Max – The Eagles very own Harry Kane. Two great strikes to add to the collection.

Sam – As usual, won most balls and caused real problems for the Kew attack. Solid!

Ethan – Weighed in with some neat passing and great physical presence, putting in some tackles when he could.

Olaf – His quick feet and carrying of the ball, gave a lot for the Kew mid-field to think about. Great game.

Eashen – Fantastic performance as usual from the fleet-footed Eagle; looks so comfortable on the ball, must be the new boots!

Leo – Although could't play Great to see the Eagles very owns shop stopper come along and cheeer on his team mates today!!

Next week's game at home (St Edmund's Pitch ) to Woking Cougar Blues. Kick-off time tbc.

Up the Eagles!!
