Whyteleafe Under 18s lose first home league fixture
Whyteleafe beaten 0-1 by Corinthian
A lovely setting for Whyteleafe Under 18s in their first home Sportswik Youth fixture. Both teams started at a high pace with the home side making the first strike on goal with the visitors keeper Harry Earls saving and pushing the ball out for a corner. Sean Marcano and club Captain Ada Okorogheye
had a quick one two but again the Corinthian back four stood firm. The away side had their first effort on goal on nine minutes but keeper Allesandro Morrone
made a fine save. Corinthian kept up the pressure and following a good move James Miles scored from inside the box with a fine shot giving keeper Morrone no chance on 14 minutes. Max Kenny
struck the crossbar with a great free kick on 35minutes. Corinthian were doing most of the attacking and Tariq Brown and Marco Fung
working very hard and breaking up the Corinthian attacks. The away side were awarded a free kick on the edge of the box on 41minutes and again keeper Morrone made the save. Whyteleafe came back on the attack with Sean Marcano and Ada playing one two and Ada shot across the goal and just missed the far post.

Whyteleafe made a change for the start of the second half, Marco Sousa replacing the busy Eric Botang-Taylor. The second period saw Whyteleafe get more into the game Cameron Myrie-Smith
was finding more space on the right side and made some dashing runs down the wing. Elliot McLean and man of the match Lewis Miller were controlling the midfield area. Whyteleafe were making more opportunities but a tough away side dug in and cleared their lines. Josh Berkerley-Agypong replaced the injured Adam Bramroffe on 69minutes. Ada and Sean were forming a good partnership and again Ada shot across goal was just wide. Corinthian had an opportunity on 75 minutes but a great block by the hard working Max Kenny
. Josh Tully made his entrance on 86minutes following an injury to Sean Marcano. Corinthian stuck to their game plan and managed to win their first game of the season.
