Whyteleafe U 18s win away at Corinthian's

A fine away win at Corinthian's on a bitterly cold January evening moved Whyteleafe up to third position in the Bostik Youth League East Division. Whyteleafe kicked off and were straight on the attack and took the lead on 3minutes, when Bradley Williams
passed to Ada and the inform striked scored from close range. From the restart Whyteleafe gained possession and set up another attack but Josh Berkerley was flagged offside. Whyteleafe scored their second goal on 10minutes when Ada fired home following some good passing movement from midfielder Lewis Miller. Whyteleafe kept up the pressure and forced a couple of corners that were cleared by the home teams defence. Following another corner on 20minutes the ball was cleared, Josh Berkerley gained possession and his first time shot rebounder off the crossbar with goalkeeper Earls well beaten. Corinthian had their first attack on goal on 23minutes but Marco Fung
cleared the danger. Corinthian was trying very hard to get back into the game and from a breakaway Tyrese Miller
founs Ada who's shot was well saved by Harry Earls in the Corinthian goal. The home side made another attack down the left side but Sam Mason broke up the attack and cleared the ball. Corinthian made their first substitution on 39minutes when James Miles replaced Fred Larson. The introduction of James appeared to give the home team a lift as they tried to get back into the game. From a Corinthian attack Leo Mabb was flagged offside. Whyteleafe remained in control and increased their lead on 41minutes when Adam Bambroffe scored from inside the box following a pass from Ada. Whyteleafe made their first change at the start of the second period when Neil Spencer replaced Josh Berkerley. Whyteleafe picked up where they left off in the first half and continued to attack, Sam Mason picked up the ball made a terrific run down the right passed to Tyrese Miller
who beat two players passed to Ada who completed his hat trick with a fine shot to make the score 0 - 4. Whyteleafe continued to attack and a shot from Josh Walker-Reifit was saved by keeper Harry Earls. It was mostly one way traffic and Whyteleafe increased their lead to 0 - 5 on 52minutes when Tyrese Miller
scored. Keeper Earls made a great double save from Tyrese and Neil Spencer. Corinthian made their second change on 63minutes Dombiede Jones replaced Tom Watson. Neil Spencer was fouled on 65minutes from the free kick which was floated into the box saw keeper Earls collect the ball in midair and releive the pressure on the Corinthian back four. Whyteleafe made their second change on 67minutes when Cameron Myrie-Smith
replaced the excellent Bradley Williams
. Tyrese was making a run down the right side with the ball at his feet and was fouled, from the free kick Neil spencer brought another fine save from keeper Harry Earls. Suddenly Corinthian's came alive and started to play good attacking football and were rewarded when substitute James Miles scored on 72minutes with a well taken goal and for the first time in the game Whyteleafe were under pressure and defending very deep. Whyteleafe set up another attack which saw Lewis Miller pass to Neil Spencer who beat keeper Earls put was flagged offside. Corinthian's were getting more confident and James Miles scored again on 72minutes with a tremendous volley that gave keeper Theobald no chance. Corinthian's were now gaining momentum and won a corner on 79minutes which keeper Theobald had to punch away. Whyteleafe made the final change on 80minutes when Eric Botang - Taylor replaced the impressive Adam Bambroffe. Corinthian's were now in control of the game but left it to late to make an impact on the game, they had another effort on 85minutes but keeper Alex Theobald was at his best and made another important save. Referee Myles Hewson had an excellent game and his was well supported by his two assistant Referees. Final Score Corinthian 2 v Whyteleafe 5.
