Disappointing display by Whyteleafe Under18s.
A fine win for visitors Welling United.
Welling United outplayed Whyteleafe in this Bostik Youth League fixture East Division winning by three goals to nil. Welling were on the front foot from the start of the game and had their first attempt on goal in the first minute when Luke West had his shot saved by keeper Theobald. A cross from Wellings Alfie Naylor into the box was met by centre forward Ollie Milton and his header just missed the target with keeper Theobald beaten. Welling were in total control for the opening fifteen minutes and only fine defending by Harry Mullane and Jacob Spencer kept the dangerous Ollie Milton at bay. Whyteleafe made their first attempt on goal when a good pass from Tyrese Miller
found Adam Bambroffe and his shot was well saved by Aaron Cathren in the Welling goal. Welling opened the scoring on37minutes when Nathan Mampond scored with a fine shot. Whyteleafee came back on the attack and Tyrese Miller
was fouled. From the free kick Ben Connolly passed to Adam Bambroffe and his great shot was brilliantly saved by Aaron Cathren in the Welling goal. The away side increased their lead on 44minutes when Didi Ndombe scored from close range. Half Time Whyteleafe 0 v Welling United 2.
Whyteleafe made a change for the start of the second half with Sean Marcano
replacing Jacob Spencer. Welling continued to attack and on 51minutes Ollie Milton broke through but keeper Alex Theobald pulled off an outstanding save. Whyteleafe made their second substitution on 58minutes with Neil Spencer replacing Frankie Walker
. Welling also made a change with Obed Mulopo replacing Alfie Naylor. Tom Hever was cautioned for Welling on 60minutes following a foul on Tyrese Miller
