Riley takes on League role
Appointed Pennine League PRO at AGM
Wibsey Open Age Vice-Chairman & PRO James Riley was appointed to the Pennine League Management Committee yesterday evening, as he was elected into the Public Relations Officer role for the competition.
James will carry the responsibility of maintaining & developing the website, along with building contacts within the local and national press, to aim to give Winter rugby's flagship competition as much exposure to the media as possible. He will however hope to continue in the same role he currently fulfils for the club, if re-elected by club members.
James' appointment comes on the back of consistent work to The Warriors own media advances over the past 5 years. He was recognised for these efforts in 2011 after scooping the Pennine League's and BARLA Media Awards.
As a result of this appointment however, there will be an opportunity for other individuals to take on leading roles within The Warriors committee as Chair & Vice-Chair. The first of the two roles was left vacant for the majority of last season, and James will be vacating his own position. The club will now aim to fill both positions at the club AGM this Thursday evening from 8.30pm at Wibsey Rugby Club.
