Meeting with Slaithwaite called off at last minute!

Saturday's Premier League encounter between Wibsey Warriors and Slaithwaite Saracens was abandoned shortly before kick-off after the referee deemed both Wibsey playing surfaces unfit after an overnight frost.

After an early inspection of Northfield Road, hopes were high that an increase in temperature would see the match being played at the usual home of The Warriors. However, official Martyn Ackroyd didnt agree after a further inspection at 1.30pm, concluding that some areas of the pitch were still being affected by the cold snap.

This meant a troop up to Beldon Lane. However with both sides going through their warm-ups, Mr Ackroyd called a halt to proceedings once again, to leave more frustration for Rob Hustler's charges who have been without a game since their home defeat against Queens on 3rd December.

Wibsey must now hope for better weather in the coming week as they make the trip to Premier Division counterparts Hunslet Old Boys in the Presidents Cup.
