Wibsey hoping to avoid Clayton freeze!

Forecast not looking good, with cold snap set to last

Wibsey Warriors visit to rivals Clayton this weekend hinges on an unlikely increase in temperature over the next 24 hours.

The -6c temperatures overnight will have left the ground with a frost covering and resembling a road rather than playing surface, and with similar conditions expected on Friday evening with a possible snow forecast on Saturday the chances of a game appear slim.

If the game does get the go ahead, Wibsey will be once again without injured skipper Nick Walker. His medial ligament complaint is likely to keep him sidelined for at least a further 2 weeks. New Wibsey signing Danny Belcher though, will be included at full-back in a return to his previous club.

Both sides will be hopeful of gaining a victory but Wibsey will be confident after their 42-10 victory earlier in the year at Northfield Road.

A similar scenario is set out for Wibsey 'A' who are set to welcome Littleborough in their Division 4 tie. With the visitors travelling from across the Pennine's though, an early decision will need to be made by Adam Bose's men.
