Colts Lancashire Cup Final

Widnes Colts head to Fleetwood on Sunday (4.00pm) in the Colts Lancashire Cup Final hoping to bring the Cup back for the third year running.

The Wids will have to be at their best against a strong Sefton outfit. Sefton have already had success at Fleetwood this season drawing 13-13 in the semi-final with a last minute penalty goal to tie the scores enabling them to go through to the final on the away rule. The Heath Road youngsters have a number of injury worries but hope that Captain Chris Schofield and George Lang will be passed fit. The two players have been part of the last two winning Cup sides and their experience will be vital if Widnes are to lift the Cup. Widnes will be hoping that Evan Simons comes through unscathed from his England Students International games to take his place at scrum half as he has been instrumental in Widnes' success this season, but a lot will depend on the Wids forwards being able to get enough ball for their talented backs.
