The best way to keep up to date with Widnes RUFC

Crowd Pleasers

7 years ago By John Loughnane

Here are a couple of photos of Mark Field and Mike Lamb (both resting until nearer the play-offs). They aren't top quality but look at the spectators.

As part of the Colts Jubilee/Juniors 20th Project, Geoff Council is collecting pictures to put on the Heritage website. These two are from the U16s Lancs Cup Final 1999, the highest recorded attendance for a Widnes RUFC match at Heath Road. No, you haven't misread that.

There's a couple more in the photo album Juniors:1991-2011 plus eight from the very first mini-junior game against Mold (the Wids are in brown). You should be able to spot a pair of club captains among some other well-known names.

Where next?

Son of My Father President Les Whitfield was delighted to welcome back past players Dave Lamb and Steve Field at the weekend.
