Our club's longtime friend and commercial partner died on June 16th after a six-month fight with cancer. Funeral takes place 10am Wed 4th July St Bedes

Frank was known throughout the North for his involvement in golf, football and both Rugby codes.

In his professional capacity, he designed a range of match day programmes, from the Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford to Heath Road's own weekly outer. Everton FC, Bradford Bulls, Widnes Vikings and Huddersfield Giants were just a few of the many clubs in between.

In his spare time, he captained Widnes Golf Club and enjoyed the company of many Wids past-players there. A regular guest at pre-match buffets, he never liked to miss the Widnes RUFC Annual Dinner and is pictured below at our most recent one, just four weeks ago.

At the 2008 dinner, Frank got involved in initial discussions about the Widnes RUFC 50th Anniversary project. Having produced the Rugby League's centenary book in 1995 to great acclaim, he was more than happy to to advise and work on our Jubilee publication. This he did with great enthusiasm and humour, reflecting on the irony that he had difficulty gaining entry to the Saturday night discos in the late 60s.

Frank will be missed, on many levels, by everyone who knew him.
Our sympathies to all his family.
