Weekend Preview
Widnes look to build upon their win over Wigton when they take on Leigh at Heath Road on Saturday (28th) kick off 2.15pm.
This is an important game for the home side, who then face a run of three consecutive away games at Anselmians, Wilmslow and Aspatria, before locking horns with runaway leaders, Sandbach at home.
Leigh are one of Widnes’ oldest rivals, and another tough games looks to be in prospect, particularly as Leigh came back into form last weekend with a 31 – 0 thumping of Broughton Park. They will also feel they have a score to settle after losing at home to the Wids last October.
Widnes though will be in no mood to let this one slip as they look to stay ahead of the chasing pack.
In a full programme of home fixtures, the Seconds are on a revenge mission against West Park after losing to them last week in the cup. The Thirds have a re-arranged cup game against Christleton.
