For the eagle eyed amongst you – the two games have been reversed on the fixture list, meaning that Widnes will now visit Walton Lea later in the year.
Derby rivals Warrington – who lost their opener against Broughton Park - were something of a surprise package last season following their promotion, but easily made the step up, and it will be a surprise if they are not there or thereabouts again this year.
Widnes narrowly won last season’s home fixture 26 – 20, following on from a titanic 34 – 34 draw the previous November, and Saturday’s game is expected to be equally as tight as the previous two.
The game kicks off at 3.00pm.
