Season closes in the sun for our U9s

Our awesome U9s finished a successful season with a wonderful day at Heath Road on Saturday, with a gladiator ring and assault course supplied by A1 Bouncy Castles (0151 425 5089), lots of food kindly provided by the parents and a few trophies for the players to.

Along with growing in numbers of players this season, we have grown as players and coaching staff, saw huge leaps in the development of each member of the team and even bigger smiles throughout. The team have taken to the physical aspect of the game whilst remembering rugby is a game of evasion/invasion and team work, we have witnessed some sublime passing to support players and strong defensive work which meant the team have scored in 27 matches almost 400 tries and conceded less than 200! We are looking forward to moving into the U10s and getting into a good ruck!!!

Before that though, there is the awards and whilst every player received a trophy and memento for their own hard work, dedication and smiles we do have some specific award winners, these are

Boy of Steel, which is awarded to the player who receives the most opposition Man of the Match awards.
This years winner is Joe White, a strong player with a strong attack and defence, Joe has improved his whole game throughout the season

Parents Player of the year
Ben Allen was nominated by the parents this year, thoroughly deserved to as although this was Ben's first season playing rugby he improved every week and is a solid member of the go forward club

Players Player of the year
Nominated by his peers is Lewis York, Mr Consistent throughout the year, a solid performer every week for the team, be that during attack or defence.

Coach's Player of the year
A new award for this season but Dylan Knowles well deserved it, a consistent member of the team who has applied himself throughout the season to improve every part of his game whilst wearing a huge smile

Although the four above have been singled out for awards, we must thank every other member of the team,
Harry Davies, cheeky chap of the team.
Max Chesters, Small and mighty
Dan Salter, Two hands Dan
Kyle Rathbone, pocket rocket
George McGauley, safe hands
Ethan Pullen, fearless and always happy
Edward Price, a gentleman competitor
Reece Stubbs, smiling assassin
Will Roberts, happy all the time
Alfie Horabin, happy with a a ball in his hands
Josh Morgan, loves to tackle
Josh Oakley, gets better every session
Peter King, rugby brain
Reece Robinson, interception

We must also thank our dedicated parents, grand parents and long suffering siblings who follow us around and cheer on from the sidelines, without your support it would be a lot harder to do what we do as a team.

Thank you also to the wider club and committee who provide the excellent facilities we enjoy at Heath Road

See you when we return as the Super U10s!!!!!
