Mixed fortunes this week for WRU Table Tennis club.
WRU I ( bereft of their No.1 and No.3 faced one of the top teams in the 1st Division and despite the valiant efforts of Bernard and Joe (stepping up from WRU II) were unable to avoid a heavy defeat.
WRU II had a free week.
WRU III will be very disappointed at losing at Farnworth. David is still stuggling with match time due to his Hospital duties. Mal is at last starting to regain his fitness after a very long layoff due to illness. Yet they will feel they should have done better.
WRU IV with Frank missing due to a minor operation were covered by Glyn (stepping up from WRU V). They played well to record a 6-4 victory against Halton E.
WRU V were visiting our old friends Sutton C. And against a very good team managed a creditable performance losing out by the narrowest of margins at 4-6.
Hopefully, with injuries, business commitments and Holiday absences now nearly all behind them, all teams will be able to build some consistent performances and show their true league status.
